Aimee Mullins is the new Global Ambassador for L’Oréal Paris

Aimee Mullins is the the new global spokesperson for L’Oréal Paris which already includes Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé Knowles, Rachel Weisz, Gwen Stefani, Gerard Butler, Freida Pinto, Diane Kruger, Aishwarya Rai and Patrick Dempsey

Aimee first received worldwide media attention as an athlete. Born without fibulae in both legs, Aimee's medical prognosis was bleak; she would never walk and indeed would spend the rest of her life using a wheelchair. In an attempt for an outside chance at independent mobility, doctors amputated both her legs below the knee on her first birthday. The decision paid off. By age two, she had learned to walk on prosthetic legs, and spent her childhood doing the usual athletic activities of her peers: swimming, biking, softball, soccer, and skiing, always alongside "ablebodied" kids. Despite this challenge, today at the age of 34 she is a top-tier athlete, a fascinating model and a talented actress.

“Aimee Mullins is a truly remarkable woman. An accomplished athlete, muse, fashion model and
talented actress, yet she is so much more: a smart, confident, curious woman who will wholly
represent our philosophy, ‘Because You’re Worth It.’ We are proud to welcome her to the L’Oréal Paris family,” says Karen T. Fondu, President, L’Oréal Paris USA.

I must say she is truly an extraordinary woman. She is beautiful, charismatic, genuine and generous, with a one-of-a-kind personality and an enthusiastic, positive vision of beauty that she loves sharing with the world

In Aimee's own word, “The L’Oréal Paris icons are among the most beautiful women in the world. I am very honoured to be joining this family. The “Because I’m worth it” tagline means a lot to me. Beauty is not skin-deep; it can be a means of self-affirmation, a true indicator of personality and confidence".

Aimee has been featured in numerous prestigious magazines all over the world such as Vogue,
Harper’s Bazaar, W, Speorts Illustrated, Life, Glamour and Elle, and appears regularly on TV programmes and at conferences to share her experience with innovation, design, and her vision of beauty.

She will represent Loreal make-up products in her first upcoming campaign. So girls keep an eyes on her !
