Bimba & Lola Spring and Summer 2011 Collection official launch

I was at the Bimba & Lola Spring and Summer 2011 Collection launching late last month at Zouk KL. Present at the launch of the season's collection are media and bloggers, Bimba & Lola mmbers, Zouk Club members and VIP Card participating merchant.

All my girlfriends are there too!The official dress code for women that night is Hooker and sailor for men. I wore my cute polka dot dress with fishnet stockings that night.

I first across to Bimba & Lola brand when I attended their VIP event last year (read them here).

bimba & lola is a new Spanish brand a project by Maria and Uxia Dominguez, of Jesus Dominguez (founding partner of Adolfo Dominguez) and Sociedad Tetil Lonia.

The brand is born out of a long-standing family tradition in the fashion industry, which brings to mind successful names such as Adolfo Dominguez, Garcia and Carolina Herrera. These established brands now have a total of 550 shops worldwide.

Bimba & Lola is an independent company dedicated to the design, distribution and sale of apparel and accessories for women. The brand’s female Spanish names reflect Bimba & Lola’s feminine, fresh an indulgent spirit.

In line with the message that these two strong women want to portray, Bimba & Lola carries a logo that’s as strong as the message put across – a greyhound in full motion, showing a fragile silhouette. The logo also represents the women’s secret love – dogs.

The year 2005 was a significant one for the company. It was the year the brand formed its strong team headquartered in Vigo, North West of Spain. Bimba & Lola opened its first shop in February 2006 before moving like a blitz with its rapid first year expansion, opening a total of 42 shops in the competitive Spanish market.

Between the year 2007 and 2009, Bimba & Lola concentrated on building the brand. The second phase of its growth saw the addition of a total of 100 shops within three years.

The years 2008 and 2009 are concentrated on building new markets in the international scene, targeting the main European cities as well as the US, Latin America, Asia and Middle East. Bimba & Lola is also targeting on opening a total of 10 shops in Portugal, beginning with the opening of its shops in Lisbon and Braga.

There are two stores each in Paris and Saudi Arabia, one each in Egypt and Kuwait while all eyes are set on America starting with Costa Rica and Mexico. Malaysia outdid Singapore with two extra outlets.

The production of Bimba & Lola products are all carried out in Spain and abroad using high quality materials. Product pricing is easily categorised as individual, placed mid-way between the luxury brands and the high-street fashion chains.

On the left is Diana Koon, Marketing Director of Bimba & Lola Malaysia said this coming season they are bringing the two themes , Tropical and Under the Sea which will promise great fashion excitement for those who favour easy-t0-wear new look. While Tropical captures the silhouette of the 50 and 7s with supersize shapes that make bold statement, Under the Sea is inspired by looks and shapes created in thr 1920s scorching through gorgeous earth tones that combined he sensual colour for a sophisticated silhouette.
