What is Soak Off UV Gel Nail Polish ? Read my experience in BMIC Salon

How many times we walked in to the nail salon with ugly/bad shaped nails and came out with clean & beautiful shaped nails



Well its the 5 Steps to basic manicure & pedicure that BMIC Nail Salon did on me that I am going to share in details with you girls here:)

1) Nail Cliper - to cut the nails to the desire length. And its always best to have nails of same length.

2) Shaping file - To shape the nails according to the preference



3) Cuticle Pushers - to push out the dead cuticle off the nails.



4) Cuticle Nipper - To clip off the excess dead cuticle. Gotta to becareful of this and not to cut your own meat .



5) Cushion file - To smoothen up the surface of the nail.


Hola, thats it .. sounds simple ? But of course all this required some patient and skills and most of us love to be pampered than to do it ourselves at home right ?

Apart from having the right tools to do the right job, it is important to have the right product to take care of our cuticle.



Nail and Cuticle Replenishing Oil - To moisture the cuticle and help to reduce growth of cuticle.



And now my nails are ready for nail polish session :D



This time around, I am trying Soak Off UV Gel Nail Polish. Have been hearing about this for the longest time and finally got the chance to try it !

Soak Off UV Gel Nail Polish is like your normal nail polish but it has the ability to last longer (around 2 weeks or more) because in part because they need to be “cured” under a UV light to dry (around 3-5 mins). Most importantly the gel must be applied and removed by a professional as normal nail polish remover cannot removed them.

No prize for guessing which color I choose ! I always love bling bling , so I chose gold with shinny dusts.

To apply Soak Off UV Gel Nail Polish, our nails still need to be applied with base, color and top like our normal nail colouring but BMIC Salon has 3 in one gel nail polish (base, colour and topcoat)

Looked how shiny is my color nail polish !

Applying nail polish for both hands takes around 10 minutes.

Then my hands are put under the UV light box to dry. Takes around 3-5 minutes for the Soak Off UV Gel Nail Polish to be completely dry.

The last step of this Soak Off UV Gel Nail Polish is to use the special finishing wipe to remove the access on top of the nail. I was told this step is important or our nails will become sticky like cell tape.

Last but not least , I was given a good hands massage with OPI Avo juice. I chose Cris Apple flavour, very refreshing. The reason why the hand massages came after the Soak Off UV Gel Nail Polish because our nails need to be completely oil free in order for the nail polish to last longer.



My Soak Off UV Gel Nail Polish lasts around 3 weeks (including a week in India).



And the nail polish shine is still there even though it has been almost 3 weeks without any touch up! The downside of this Soak Off UV Gel Nail Polish is that I need to go back to the salon tomorrow to remove the gel nail polish when some of the color at the nail edge are coming off!

My waxing & hand paraffin experience in BMIC Nail Spa Salon

Over the last weekend, I decided to for waxing at BMIC which not only doing nail services but also offering waxing service as well. I remembered my first time oh eyebrow waxing is in Benefit counter last year. This time I am going to have a private waxing session at BMIC Starhill.

I am going to share with you girls here how they did my waxing session and hand paraffin treatment :)

Ops did I mentioned where am I going to wax? Well I am going to wax my eyebrow and above my lip area.

So I was lead into a private room and make to lie on the bed before the waxing session started. Kelly, the therapist looked at my eyebrow shape first before she proceeded to took a little bit of warm honeywax from the pot.

Quickly she applied the warm honeywax on the area that she intending to wax.

Then she put a strip on the area she put the honeywax. Pressing it hard to make sure it its properly stick.

Suddenly she pulled up the strip,at first it is a little bit painful because I did not expect that coming. Haha look at my expression! Quickly Kelly applied some kinda of gel on my skin to give soothing effect.

I was told that the action in pulling out the strip must be very fast at one go or else it would be very painful for us.

Then she gotta trim a little excess of the left over eyebrow and to shape i properly.

Hula, within 10 mins I got a pretty nice eyebrow shape already ! Yes it is a little painful but I was told this waxing could prevent the new growth of eyebrow hair for at least 3-6 weeks! So now I do not need to trim it for next few weeks !

For the lips area, there are some fine tiny hair on my upper lip. The method of applying and peeling of the honeywax is the same. However this time around it is not so painful compare to my eyebrow waxing because our eyes are the most sensitive/fragile area on our face.

After some waxing services, I went for the hand paraffin treatment. It is one of my favourite service because I like the feeling of my hands being soak into the warm wax just like how I like my feet to be soaked into warm water after a long tiring day.

Hand paraffin treatment helps to softening and moisturizing our hands. The warm paraffin wax helps to improve our blood circulation, reduces pain and stiffness around joints

This paraffin wax is peach flavour.

Before I dip my my hands into the warm paraffin wax (temperature over 35 °C), I opened up my fingers so that paraffin wax can wrapped around each of my fingers. I dipped around 3 times and each time each layer should harden slightly before a thick layers of paraffin wax built up on my hands.

Then I was told to wear a plastic hand gloves to lock in the moist.

And to retain the warmth of the wax, I was given a pair of mitten to to wear. I waited around 30 minutes for the paraffin to be cooled and dried before the therapist removed the paraffin wax by peeling it off from my hands.

And my hands are now soft and moist now :)

Apart from doing hand paraffin treatment, we must always apply hand lotion to keep our hands moisturize :)

My pampering session at BMIC Nail Salon, Starhill

One of the best way to distress oneself is to be pampered like a princess, agree ?

Let me show you how I was being pampered in one of weekends!

This is where land of smile greeted me :)


Going for manicure and pedicure is one of my ways to release the stress and tension from work and life! Here I enjoy my nails being pampered like a baby..... i.e handle with care and love :)

After my hands are being cleansed, Kelly proceed to scrub all my dead skin cells away!

Aroma Rose Scrub which contains mineral salt with rose extract and essential oil was used here to scrub to remove soften and remove my dead skin cells before moisturizing them and leaving my hands which will with lovely rosey smell...

Rosey smell makes me relax and fell good!

After washing off the mineral salt, my hands are further being softened and moisture with my chosen OPI Raspberry lotion. yummy smell!!



Then proceed with shaping, buffing and cuticle treatment.

I gotta choose my colors for my manicure and pedicure!



I choose Black Onyx for my hands and You Don't Know Jacob for feet!

This time around am going to have nail art to be stamped on my nails !

I have a tough decision to make because I want all this pretty design on my nails !

Finally I make my choice and my manicurist Stamp stamp stamp ... on my nails

Continue with my pedicure service while waiting my nails to dry !

Lucky there is flat screen tv on the wall, I was watching MTV reality shows while my manicurist busy doing my nails !


At the end of the day !


I am Happy because....I got

Pretty feet !

and

Pretty Hands!

I love how pretty my lucky clover leaf design on my finger nails.. I guess they are bringing luck to me as I am recovering from my sinus surgery which has been bothering me for the last 1 month..

And of course this "Little Princess" felt so relax and good about herself after her manicure and pedicure service :)
