Well oh well I just realised Samsung Galaxy Note II in Red Ruby Wine just match my sexy red lippy perfectly!

Under bright lighting, Samsung Galaxy Note II in Red Ruby Wine looked like this.. so classy & feminine at the same time!

 Looked how the colour looked more maroon in store! And I'm glad it is not some bright red colour which might be too loud for some and older generation may not be able to accept it... and this maroon colour is just the perfect shade! 

Grey & White are the permanent colours of Samsung Galaxy Note II and just like the pink colour, this Red Ruby wine colour is also a limited edition!

And personally if I were to choose between 3 colours, I would definitely choose Red Ruby Wine colour because the colour is so feminine and it would make me stand out from the rest!

Review : Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+ / PA+++

Remember I posted a picture of myself and Bebe a while ago and I was telling you how I love the sunblock I was using (click here to read) it is fresh, cooling and moisturizing besides it protects my skin against harmful sun rays! Well now I am going to reveal and review here!

It’s the new Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+ / PA+++ for face and body which recently launched in Malaysia.

Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence comes in a blue plastic tube. And I read that this sunblock consists of Biore’s pioneering technology i.e Aqua Micro Capsules where UV absorbing ingredients are locked in to provide strong, long lasting protection against UV rays yet with a surprisingly light and cool ‘Water-like’ fresh feeling. It is also formulated with hyaluronic acid and mix citrus essence (lemon, grapefruit & orange) as moisturising ingredients to leave skin looking healthy and hydrated.

Colour & Texture : Pale yellowish colour liquid with small yellow beads. These yellow beads are the Aqua Micro Capsules which has UV absorbing ingredients to give long lasting protection yet with cool ‘Water-like’ fresh feeling that is non sticky and non oily.

Scent : Fruity

Review : I always love Biore sunblock and this Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+ / PA+++ did not fail me either. Being water based, I absolutely love how the texture is really “watery” like how it is named and absorbs really fast on my skin. There is a slight cooling sensation when I applied it on my skin and the little yellow beads disappeared as I swipe the sunblock on my skin. Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence really works well protecting me from the sunrays with its SPF 50+ / PA+++ and in my recent trip to Cambodia I use this solely to try out the effectiveness. I am happy to report that I applied this sunblock under my makeup and I have no sunburn at all and my skin tone colour remains the same despite being under the sun for the whole day! I love how this sunblock did not make me feel greasy or sticky at all even though I was sweating heavily in Cambodia! And if you remembered my previous review on Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse and Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Jelly where I do really like them, now with the Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence, I absolutely love them because it has the fresh citrus scent, nice watery texture, no greasy feeling and protects well against damaging UVA and UVB!

My new favourite sunblock

Sometimes I loved sitting outside the café to do my blogging work because I enjoy watching people walked by while having my favourite strawberry smoothies.

However do you all know that even though I am not sitting directly under the sunlight I am still exposed to UV rays? I cannot run away from the UV rays even if I choose to sit inside the cafe because UV rays can reflect off windows, concrete roads and penetrate through glass windows!

The scary thing is this bad UV rays will speed up skin’s aging process resulting in wrinkles, dark spots, freckles and pigmentations!!! Yes, no matter how much whitening product you use, it is VERY important to apply sunblock everyday as part of our daily skincare regime to protect our skin from harmful UV rays so that skin stays healthy and beautiful!

However,I am sure most of us hate the sticky and oily feeling after we apply sunblock right? And what is most annoying is the smell which is hard to stand!

However I am so glad that finally I am able to find a sunblock that is not only affordable but able to provide long lasting protection without any sticky or greasy feeling. So fresh, cooling and moisturising, it felt like I did not apply sunblock at all! It is a product from Biore which would be launched soon in the market!!

Review : Biore Makeup Remover for Eye and Lips

This is a new product from Kao, Biore Makeup Remover for Eye and Lip. It comes in an eye-catching pink bottle. It is said to contain Micro Cleansing Formula which softens and effectively lifts off all traces of heavily-layered makeup. This special formula works by giving more even dispersion when shaken, hence less wiping is needed on delicate eyes and lips where excessive wiping and tugging a these delicate areas can damage the skin, causing wrinkles.

This formula also has the famous Hyaluronic Acid in their formula to moisturise skin as it cleanses. It is dernatologically and ophtalmogically tested to be safe on skin, yes and lips. It promises to let the user easy to use, feels pleasanetly light and leaves no oily residue.

Ingredients list

You gotta shake the bottle well until the it turned to light pink colour before using it.

Instruction how to use it is on the back of the packaging

Pour the remover around 50 cent size on a cotton pad



Close your eyelid and leave the cotton pad for at least 5 seconds.

You can see that some of the mascara and eyeshadow melted after then 5 seconds wait. It is important to do this step as the makeup will be melted and it can be removed with a few gentle swipes.

To remove your mascara : Slowly cleanse the mascara by gently swipping the cotton pad downwards from the root of the eyelash to the tip. Cleanse the mascara again by moving upwards fromm root to the tip of eyelashes. Repeat a few times until it is clean.

To remove the under eyeliner or eyeshadow and concealer, fold the cotton pad into half and gently swipes from left to right.

Note : This is also a lip remover, hence just rememeber to leave the cotton pad with remover for 5 seconds on your lips before gently swipping it off.

My review : It does pretty a good job cleansing up all my eyes makeup very well and easy including the stubborn mascara such as Max Factor. Seems like a few gentle swipes seems to be sufficient in removing makeup and it is does not leave oily residue after I washing off my face! I am in love with this remover simply because it does not sting my eyes although my eyes are quite sensitive. I pair this remover with my favourite Biore Cleansing Oil - in cotton wipes which I use to removed my face makeup and seems like a perfect combination! Definitely will re-purchased this!

Pros : Easy to use, removes well, gentle to use and do not sting my eyes

Media Launch of Biore Skincare Facial Foam with latest Skin Purifying Technology

On 29 July 2011, I attended Kao Biore media launch their latest skincare facial foam with Skin Purifying Technolog which will replaced their existing range in the market. So read more to find what so special about this range.

Mr Murakami, Yoshihiro shared that their latest skincare facial foam has the latest Skin Purifying Technology (SPT) which came after the result of 31 years’ worth of research and tests catered to improve the way women all over the world take care of their skin. With this new technology, your skin is gently yet thoroughly cleanses dirt and sebum without removing your skin’s essential moisture, leaving your skin feeling light and evenly smooth skin. And it is called the skincare washing foam for that reason.

This skincare washing foam which is not your normal cleanser. The normal cleanser gets rid the skin of dirt and sebum but will also have the cleansing agents which tend to penetrate deep into our skin causing more harm as our skin’s natural moisture and pH levels are compromised.

However with Skin Purifying Technology in latest Kao Biore facial foam, all these challenges are no longer an obstacle. SPT does not irritate the skin but focuses only on removing dirt and sebum on the skin, even in the pores. The cleansing agent in SPT is not absorbed deep into the skin, but working only on the skin surface.

Therefore the skin’s natural moisture and pH levels are maintained even after it has been cleansed with the Kao Biore SPT cleanser. And with daily usage, the skin’s natural form is restored and the skin is able to renew itself effectively thus unveiling our skin true beauty.

Ms Matsuo, Keiko - Manager of Global R&D Skin Beauty, Kao Corporation Japan explained that the human skin is designed in such a way that it renews itself every 4 weeks. As a result, skin will begin to look dull and lifeless while makes our skin to be more prone to skin problems like acne and dry skin. By then the skin repair process will slow down and will caused it loses its softness and elasticity making room for all kinds of skin problems. So while it is important to use a cleanser that could removing dirt and unclog our clogged pores effectively it must not affect our skin natural renewing process.

Ms Matsuo did an experiment at the event to show to the media friends that the latest Kao Biore with SPT does not change the moisture and texture of the skin while doing the cleansing job.

Normal cleanser vs Kao Biore cleanser with Skin Purifying Technology

After the protein was put in both the bottle( left side having the normal cleanser and the right side filled with SPT cleanser), it was stirred. After approximately for 5 minutes the protein in the bottle of water with Skin Purifying Technology cleanser does not disolved or changed the texture of the protein while the other bottle of water with normal cleanser has dissolved the protein.

This showed that Kao Biore latest SPT cleansing agent is not absorbed deep into the skin, working only on the surface hence left our skin moisture and texture untouched.

Me and the super huge cleanser - Can I bring this home?

Well after I heard about the explanation about this latest Kao Biore skincare washing with Skin Purifying Technology I am convinced to try this range because personally I do believe as well that a good cleanser (whether its counter or pharmacy brand) should not make our skin dry and tight after washing but should merely does the work of cleaning away the dirt on the surface & pores of our face.

Review : Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse and Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Jelly

KAO Malaysia recently launched two new sun protection products in its sun protection range by introducing Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse and Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Jelly, with SPF50+/PA+++ and SPF30/PA+++ respectively, the products offer optimum protection from harmful sun rays while restoring and retaining the skin’s moisture with a cool ‘water-like’ sensation! And both of the products are stated as No 1 Sunblock in Japan based on 2010 data.

And I received them last month for review purposes in this blog to share my readers.

The first item is Biore UV Aqua Rich in Watery Mouse water base that comes with SPH 5o PA+++ and comes in 33g

There is a few benefits being highlight in the sticker. As stated in the sticker, this comes as a cream form and note this is for face only.

It comes in a tube form where one just need to squeeze out the cream to use.

It is stated that it contains Aqua Micro Capsules which release ‘water-like’ moisture, leaving skin feeling light, cool, healthy and hydrated.

Texture : It comes in watery mousse texture, come in white color

Smell : Has has a light pleasant fruity smell

My review : I felt slight cooling sensation when I applied on my face. The light texture cream like mousse type immediately disappeared into my skin without leaving any trace of white cast after I applied evenly on my skin. My skin did not feel sticky or have any allergy reaction at this moment and surprisingly despite it is in cream form it makes me feels quite light on my face and gave semi matte finish. On top of the sunblock, I applied the foundation on top of this and found that indeed this sunblock works quite well as makeup base which make my makeup last longer and not feeling greasy / sticky even after going under the hot sun.

The second product is Biore UV Aqua Rich Water Jelly water based SPH 30 PA+++

Like the above product, the same benefits is stated in this product too , however it is state in this product that this is in gel form and can be used on face and body.

It comes in squeeze tube bottle , consists of 90ml

Texture : Its light gel lotion type comes in light yellow color

Scent :Has stronger citrus smell but disappear after a while

My review : I felt very slight cooling sensation after I applied on my skin. And once I applied, it immediately absorb into my skin without feeling greasy/sticky. In fact I felt as if I do not apply anything at all! And my face do not feel sticky even after I went under the hot sun to go for lunch.

Note : I do not experience any allergy reaction when testing out these two sunblocks for over 2 weeks.

My suggestion

As both items are from the same range and giving same benefits and the only different is the texture, I would recommend these below to help you to make your choice.

If you are one that has oily skin and always apply makeup as your daily routine I would recommend the one that comes in mousse type because it gives semi matte finish and helps your makeup to stay on quite well. As this comes with 50 SPH PA+++ , therefore people who always work in outdoor will benefit from this..

And people with normal skin type and those who do not apply makeup regularly could try the one in water jelly type as this one could be used to apply on your face and body.


Both Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery (whether in Mousse/Watery Jelly) are priced reasonably at RM32.90 each and available now at all leading Guardians. Watsons, Jusco and Sasa.
