Dr. Marceline Lemarie, Organising Chairperson of World Marketing Summit Malaysia 2013 giving her opening speech.
“Project Hope, an integral initiative of the World Marketing Summit Malaysia 2013, is very happy to be able to provide less-privileged children the opportunity to have better futures by exposing them to inspirational personalities as well as aspirational activities. Additionally, the WMSM2013 is very excited to have international brands participating in our mission – it is precisely this mindset of creating a better world through marketing that we want to cultivate with marketers throughout the world: that profit & purpose should co-exist, and that social purpose is the new DNA of business. The delivery of the UN’s MDGs rests on public-private partnership – the shared responsibility of the private and public sector to lift the socio-economic status of the less fortunate resides at the very core of MDGs,” said chairperson of WMS Malaysia 2013, Dr.Marceline Lemarie.
Few VIPs who turned up to be supportive are En Mansor Abdul Latiff, Generarketing & CSR, Asian Football Confederation; Dr Annathurai, Head of CSR, Asian Football Federation; Christoper Huehn, Christian Rehren, Ambassador of Chile Malaysia to Malaysia, Tom Abang Saufi and Donne Ray of the Platters.
These children is our future and the only way for them to get out of poverty is through education. Hence Project Hope addressed two of the United Nation's MDGs: Eradicating Exterme Poverty & Hunger (MDG1) and Achieving Primary Education (MDG2).
As part of the Project Hope, a selection of the 100 art pieces by the children will be auctioned to participants of the World Marketing Summit Malaysia which would be happening this 28 - 30 September 2013. All the proceeds will be channeled back to the children's homes. Additionally, the three children with the highest bids on their art pieces will receive a fixed deposit in their names which will be made available to them when they reach 18 years old. The winner will receive RM5,000, the runner up RM2,000 and second runner up RM1,000. WMSM 2013 will continue to check in on these children, following up on their development as they grow on their journey.
An extension of Project Hope, 8 BILLION was also launched at the event. 8 BILLON will see the participation of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) from Malaysia to build a sustainable programme to benefit these less-privileged children. The support of the local SMEs in 8 BILLION will increase reach and sustainability of Project Hope’s efforts to address MDGs 1 and 2 (Eradicating Extreme Poverty & Hunger and Achieving Universal Primary Education).
Donne Ray was singing to the media & children after the presentation, ohhhhh his voice is so mesmerizing!
I remembered that he sang "Smoke Gets in your Eyes" and "Only You" , and these are my favourite songs!
Suddenly Mr Bean turned up, look how excited the children are!
He does look like the real Mr Bean, Rowan Atkinson!
Even his expression looked like the real one!!
Of course he still have his bear with!
