NBOS Run & Ride 2016 - 14 Aug 2016 in PICC, Presint 5, Putrajaya

NBOS Run & Ride 2016 is organized by MAKSAK Malaysia on Sunday 14th August 2016 at PICC, Presint 5, Putrajaya. NBOS stands for National Blue Ocean Strategy and it's all about creating niche markets in any industries for business growth which in turn will boost the nation’s economy. The fun event is supported by Ministry of Youth & Sports, Perbadanan Putrajaya and Persatuan PerkhidmatanTadbir dan Diplomatik. 

NBOS Run & Ride 2016 is an outdoor sporting event whereby it offers participants, 11km & 5km run or a 16km cycling option. There are a total of 8 categories which are as below.

Please note that the eligible age to participate for categories a – g is 16 years and above while participants aged 13 years and above are allowed to participate with the 5km fun run.

Free admission for children aged 12 & below but they will NOT be entitled to Brooks T-shirt, Finisher medal, Certificate & snack pack. Parents must take full responsibility and care over their children’s safety.

Each and every participant of NBOS Run & Ride 2016 will receive : 

a. Race pack - participants must collect their race pack from VIVA Home Shopping Mall which will consists of a BROOKS t-shirt, a number bib, safety pins & race guide (in any). 

b.A finisher medal, certificate and a snack pack will be given to the participants upon completion of their run or ride.

Prizes offered for NBOS Run & Ride 2016 are actually quite attractive considering the joining fee is pretty affordable.

It is a fun event with carnival atmosphere. The registration will be closed upon reaching 4000 participants or 23rd July 2016. 

• All Fun Ride participants must have a bicycle and helmet. If they do not have a bicycle, then you may arrange to rent a bicycle from the supplier below at your own risk. The organizer will not be responsible for any dispute on the bicycle rental arrangement between supplier and participants.

Be a savior and join MBO Nationwide Blood Donation Campaign 27 Sept

MBO Cinemas and St. Johns Malaysia Ambulance recently announced the launch of a nationwide blood donation campaign, which is set to take place in 23 (of 25) MBO locations around Malaysia, this September 27. At the same time, this campaign will be attempting to make it into the Malaysia Book of Records as the Biggest Nationwide Blood Donation Campaign by a Cinema Organization, by achieving 5000 blood donors in a single day.

As we know. the National Blood Centre (NBC) and blood banks throughout the country are still facing shortage of blood donors, registering low number of turn-up among donors as the main reason. According to statistic, only 2.5% of Malaysians are blood donors, compared to international standards of 5% of a country’s population. MBO said that most blood donation drives are conducted at the same key venues around the nation, which results in us not being able to reach out to new potential donors. And with MBO Nationawide Blood Donation campaign that targets multiple locations and demographics they are confident that they will be able to reach their target of getting 5000 donors to participate.

During the event day, MBO Cinemas will be giving out to each donor a free movie ticket & goodie bag with movie merchandises worth in total RM150,000 nationwide as a thank you token to donors for their support in replenishing the nation’s blood banks, as well as for being part of the Biggest National Blood Campaign by A Cinema Group. MBO Cinemas also donated RM 10,000 to the St. Johns Ambulance Malaysia, as a token of appreciation for their support and assistance in this nationwide blood campaign.

Those who wish to be participate this blood donation campaign should generally weigh over 50kgs, are aged between 18 and 60, with general good health and have not been on antibiotics 1 week prior to the donation date.

Malaysia’s Largest Mobile Breast Cancer Campaign Coming To You with ‘Kiss Goodbye To Breast Cancer’ Bus!

The fight against the Number 1 women killer continues! In conjunction with the much-celebrated worldwide PINK October Month, AVON Malaysia is all geared with its Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer Campaign 2013.

This year around, the fight continues with a strategic collaboration with LPPKN and MYDIN as The Company For Women set to create a new record in the Malaysia Book of Records for The Largest Mobile Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.

The campaign’s key objectives are to empower women to improve their breast health while educating the importance of breast screening as part of a healthy lifestyle. The campaign also aims to create awareness among women, with emphasis that one third of breast cancers are preventable and that regular screening can save lives. 

Themed “Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer”, this fun road tour will be carried out simultaneously via different 6 buses in 6 zones nationwide; namely the north, central, south, east coast, Sabah and Sarawak. These unique buses are equipped with private rooms specially designed for clinical breast checks, educational corner and registration counter for mammogram subsidy.

Scheduled from 5th to 30th October 2013, these KGBC buses are slated to stop over at 48 locations nationwide from 10am – 5pm each weekend. Locations are selected for their hot spot awareness and reach-out potentials, with main locations being at Mydin Malls where the public is easily accessed. 

The key highlight of the tour is the free clinical breast health check by LPPKN’s professional medical teams, educating the masses that breast cancer screening should be made as a routine testing aims at detecting breast cancer at its earlier stages. Regular breast cancer screenings can detect early signs of breast cancer, including tumours that are too small to feel. 

To encourage participation, Avon will be giving away attractive goodies to the first 100 participants who get on board the bus for their breast screening. Also, 50 participants with pink outfits will win Best Dressed prizes. The public can also look forward to various exciting programs like charity makeovers, pink bazaar charity sales, lucky draws and free bra fitting education, among others.
