My shopping in Desa Home, One City Subang

As some of you might know, I moved in to my own place on 12/12/18 and I am busy shopping for furniture and electrical applicants to fill up my place. 

For once I fulfilled my childhood dream to have my own pink princess room lol

My shopping list is never ending and I always on the look out for good deal so that I can save more to buy more items! Need to be smart shopper eh! 

So I have heard of Desa Home as it's pretty popular among Kepong folks (ah Kepong is my fav place to go for steamboat!). Desa Home was established in 1995 & they specialise in home entertainment systems. But now they are also offering wide varieties of home appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines and cooking appliances. 

I found out that late last year they opened a second store in Subang Jaya where it occupies 1394 sqm space on the ground floor of One Space, The Square, One City. Huge place! 

Ever since it has been established it has won numerous awards which includes 2017 International Prestige Brand Award, 2016 Asia Honesty Enterprise Award, Malaysia Top Entrepreneur of The Year Award and 2018 DOTY Designer of The Year Awards ‘Best Product Design Home Entertainment (Audio Systems).

So I decided to visit Desa Home in One City Subang! The staffs in Desa Home are really friendly and helpful to answer any questions I have, great service :)

I swear by Sharp Plasmacluster Air Purifer because I have been using the older model for the past 6-7 years before it stopped working last year. So I'm thinking should I buy the replacement or get a totally new one for my room.

What I like about this Desa Home showroom in One City is that there is this karaoke room where we get to try their low to high-end budgets home entertainment system. 

Hehe even got golden mic for you guys to sing & test the sound system!

Thank you Desa Home for this amazing shopping experience. Now my house is ready for Chinese New Year Now which is just around the corner! 

And one of my 2019 resolution is to live a healthier lifestyle. I have started to swim regularly, go to gym & even started cycling! I tried to make sure that I exercise 3-5 times per week. Part of the plan also to change my eating habits which I want to have less carb, less oil, salt, preservative and MSG - which means less outside food, more home cooked food! 

Hence I decided to buy Philips Viva Collection All-In-One Cooker HD2137 after reading so many good reviews about this. After checking few places, I decided to get it at Desa Home because the price is really affordable at RM 529!

This machine can slow cook, pressure cook & multi cook very fast. Super amazing cooker, cos this can even bake & make yogurt! I'm really in love with it!

I made Lotus Peanut soup with ribs in pressure cook mode for my dinner. Foolproof recipe, all the ingredients put in the pot and press"Pressure Cook" mode and "Start". My soup is ready in 20 mins :) 

Nowadays I cooked for my meals every often, before I go work to bring lunch to office and after work too, cos this magic multi cooker saves me a lot of time & effort :D Best investment ever!

My Sharp Air Purifer FPJ30LB, I bought it for RM 339. I was advised to get this model as the coverage area is 23m² and will be perfect for my room size. Main reason I need this is because my previous air purifier stopped working after 7 years. As some of you might know, I got sinus with really sensitive nose (especially to smoke & dusts) and I'm allergy to dust mite ( I did an allergy test in hospital to know about this!)

I read that this new model can remove mold, viruses, allergens, odors and static electricity from the air. Also I personally think that this has more powerful air suction compared to my previous one. Also I can't wait to ON the Haze mode function when Indonesian starts burning the forests/plantation again...lol (better still please stop burning!)

I think clean air is the first step to healthy living hence this is definitely a must buy for everyone lol! Honestly feel i sneeze lesser and sleeps better at night too! When my mum came for a visit & slept over with me a while ago, she said my room air smell fresher and air feel cooler compared to my brother's room. So immediately she asked me to help her to buy one and put in her room back in Johor. I think unless one experiences it the difference it's quite hard to convince anyone cos air is still air too many people.. (Hahah now I sound like Sharp salesman already, this is my honest testimonial k!)

Weekend visit at REO suites

Was browsing through my facebook and saw some of my bloggers are sharing about REO suites (http://reo.com.my/beta/) showroom and looks damn good leh! Out of curiosity went to check their blog since the name sounds kinds cool lah…

REO Suite is in fact located next to One City mall, remembered earlier this year I went to check out because I want to see this transparent roof top floor at The Sky at One City Mall, in USJ.

REO Suite is connected to the rest of Subang and KL City via the new LRT now so you cannot say it’s far lol! People often say Subang is “rich guy” area but surprisingly this REO Suite price is pretty good for a freehold title!

REO Suite also can be a small office; would be great if companies invest in such kind of office. I’m sure productive will be high when the employee is happy working in such an environment!

What actually caught my attraction is the rooftop pool ! I can imagine me sipping cocktail by the pool side… haha feel so “atas”.

Seriously I think the design caught my eyes. Very contemporary and the location is great! Downstairs got shopping mall, dining and entertainment (cinema) everything at one place. I don’t even need to drive out seriously. Can just wear my tee & shorts to go down for a Starwars movie. Also plus point for this… my girl friend Juli lives nearby so we can have midnight “yumchar” session as well!

Get a small unit first and then slowly upgrade….and price here are pretty affordable. Looking at how much the rental nowadays and property price increase like rockets… I think I will bring my my mum here to the showroom to see this place… After all mum knows the best!

I have been shopping in Tesco Malaysia Ampang branch ever since I moved to Cheras few years ago. Though I enjoyed shopping there because it was spacious but seriously it was overcrowded and difficult to find parking especially on weekends.  

On weekday crowd are lesser but then my boyfriend is working and he could not go with me, which means I got no Hercules to carry my shopping bags! Even I got the time & energy to go and carry those shopping bags home.. I cannot help but not to think how bad the security nowadays in Malaysia.  

So end up I only got to shop with my boyfriend once a week for our groceries . I only can buy few days food supplies if I am cooking at home because fresh vegetables don’t last too many days.

 

When I knew Tesco Malaysia is launching online shopping at their website, I was really happy because it would do doorstep delivery!

 Looked really simple, only 5 steps for my shopping stuffs to be sent to my doorstep!

So I hop on to their website to check them out, first thing on my mind whether my area was covered in their delivery route. Checked , my area was covered!

 Next of course to register an account with Tesco Malaysia website at eshop.tesco.com.my

There are wide range of products to choose from all nicely put in different categories.

 

I even found that the price in the website is the same as in the store, including promotion items and it also show when promotion period will end!  YAY… thumb up for that because I was worried I might miss their in store promotion if I shop online! Also I can Collect Tesco Clubcard points, same as in store!

It was pretty simple to do shopping at the website and in fact I could actually plan my spending… because each item I added into the cart would be shown on the right tab. 

In total I picked up 21 items, in my list I need to replenish our toilet papers, fabric softener, drinks & biscuits. I did picked some green vegetables too.   

Personally I think when I was shopping at the supermarket itself, I always end up forgetting my shopping list and sometimes overspend my budget because I only get to know the total price of my shopping cart at the cashier. 

 

There are delivery slots available in 2-hour delivery windows. These are available from 10am to 10pm, 7 days a week. Each delivery slot has a maximum capacity, so place you order well in advance to guarantee the slot you want. I read that we can order our shopping up to 3 weeks in advance…wow! Can plan everything ahead!

You just need to pay RM10 delivery fee for everything to be delivered to your doorstep!

 Once I picked the delivery slot, it is reserved for 2 hours. And even it confirmed, I still can edit/change or cancel my order anytime until 23:00 on the day before it is due to be delivered!    

If you see above I have picked delivery time between 8-10pm and then I realized the next morning that night my boyfriend wanted to go for a movie so I try my luck calling their customer service at 1300-13-1313 and asked for a change of time. The customer service agent who picked up the call was really polite & told me he would call me back within 10 mins. And yes he called back and told me he has re-arrange and my shopping stuffs would be sent in the afternoon around 2-4pm instead! Thumb up for being so efficient and professional in handling my request though it was really last minute.

 At around 3pm, Tesco Malaysia van arrived at my home. Very punctual!

2 Hercules from Tesco Malaysia sent my shopping… while the princess me sit at home and wait for them to arrive!

They actually brought everything in my house and I just need to stand there enjoy watching! Aiks… car porch area is in a mess right now as renovation is on going after house was broke in last week!

Tesco staff explained to me that some of the items are out of stock and they brought subtitute alternative brand for me to pick where I can choose to accept or reject. 

 It is kinda cool to see that Tesco Malaysia staff brought the portable credit card paying device! So convenient!

Do note that only card payment is acceptable (be it credit card or debit card) as long it is Visa or Master issued by banks in Malaysia. I am pretty okay with this because I prefer payment by card as I think it is troublesome to pay using cash & of course for safety reason too I don’t carry too much cash in my purse nowadays!

Wahaha I picked a lot of heavy stuffs to be delivered to my house, watermelon, fabric softer and packet & bottle drinks! Fuiyoh…. sweat when I was moving all these to the kitchen! Lucky it was just few steps away!

Overall I like the grocerry online shopping concept because so convenient and Tesco does carry a lot of brands for consumers to choose. And this kind of service is perfect for anyone and if you are a pregnant lady or if you have old grandparents at home or if you are living in an apartment, where carrying those grocerry using stairs is a hell! I knew it because I stayed in an apartment before and I hate doing grocerry shopping everytime because got to walk up the apartment carrying those bags. Now with just RM10 delivery fee , we shop online, Tesco Malaysia deliver it to our doorstep!
